If you have a player who emails you, and mentions that their NFL Weekly Pickem picks have not shown up in their email, here are the steps you should go through BEFORE contacting us for technical support.
Now, if all of these steps have been completed, and the issue has not been resolved, by all means, let us know, and we will help you sort it out.
- Verify that the players email address saved in his profile is correct and the same one they are contacting you with. Do this from your pool manager under player edit function.
- Ask the player to check all locations where junk mail is stored, gmail, hotmail, yahoo etc often categorize this email as spam even though the player himself has requested it
- Login yourself using the players id and password, change his email to your own, and submit a set of picks. (check your own spam locations to make sure you're not getting filtered out)
- Verify that the players picks actually save when you submit them by simply submitting the picks (waiting for the page to actually process them) and then click picksheet again. The picks should be there.
Now, at this point, you have probably submitted picks a few times, and you should have several picks emails either in your inbox, or that of the player if you left his email the way it was.
If you still cannot receive the picks emails at this point, try another email address, because whats happening is somebody is filtering the email out after we send it.
We can only send an email we cannot make sure that your spam software doesn't filter it out, or that your ISP doesn't reject it.
Here is another possible routine you might try going through to make sure the program is in fact saving the picks, and that there is no "glitch" happening. Aside from conflicts where managers attempt to combine pick options that do not work, the basic pick saving routine has only been discovered to fail if the user attempts to input data that doesn't belong ($,-#@ etc) or if they are not waiting to let the webpage complete it's task.
Try this the next time a person says they can't save their picks.
Manager: OK login, you are at the picks screen?
...
Player:Yes
Manager: Ok, do your picks, and click submit
...
Player: OK
Manager: Do your picks appear on screen?
...
Player: Yes
Manager: Now click picksheet again.
...
Player: ok
Manager: Are those your picks back in the picksheet?
...
Player: Yes
Manager: Ok then, your picks are saved, now, go to your email, do a send/receive, or refresh
...
Player: OK
Manager: Is your picks email there now?
...
Player: No
Manager: Ok, go to your junk mail folder
...
Player: ok
Manager: IS it in there?
...
Player: Yes, oh man, sorry I should have checked there first
Manager: No problem, this happens to hundreds of people who use gmail, hotmail, or other programs for their email that may have some automatic filtering.
